Viana do Castelo welcomes the Sailing Schools Portugal Cup between the 1st and the 3rd of September. The competition is open to sailors (who meet the necessary conditions) from the following categories: Optimist, Techno 293 and Laser Pico (Individual).

The competition will be made possible by Federação Portuguesa de Vela (Portuguese Sailing Federation) and Clube de Vela de Viana do Castelo (Viana do Castelo Sailing Club). It also counts on support from the City Council, Associação Regional de Vela do Norte, Associação Portuguesa da Classe Internacional Optimist, Associação Portuguesa da Classe ILCA e Laser as well as a sponsorship from Fidelidade Seguros.
